Adults 18 years of age and over: Take 1 tablet daily for at least 7 days and up to 14 days. Swallow the tablet whole with water, with or without a food. Do not crush or chew the tablet. Always take this medicine exactly as described in the Consumer Medicine Information leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist have told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The recommended dose is one tablet a day. - Do not take more than this recommended dose of one tablet (20 mg) a day, even if you don't feel an improvement immediately. - You may need to take Nexium 24HR for a few days before experiencing the full effect. - Nexium 24HR should be taken for at least 7 days and up to 14 days. - Tell your pharmacist or doctor if you do not feel better while taking Nexium 24HR. If symptoms persist or recur within 2 weeks of completing the course, consult your doctor. Further examination may be required.
Always read the label, use only as directed. Tell your pharmacist or doctor if you notice any of the following and they worry you: nausea or vomiting, constipation, diarrhoea, headache, wind, stomach pain, skin rash, itchy skin, dizziness or dry mouth. These side effects are usually mild. Tell your pharmacist or doctor if you are taking any other medicines, including any that you buy without a prescription from your pharmacy, supermarket or health food shop. Some medicines may interfere with Nexium 24HR. Do not take Nexium 24HR if you are pregnant unless your doctor says so. Ask your doctor about the risks and benefits involved. It is not known if it is safe for you to take Nexium 24HR while you are pregnant. It may affect your baby. Do not take Nexium 24HR if you are breastfeeding. Ask your doctor for more information. Nexium medicine is available to treat frequent heartburn, acid reflux and other acid-related conditions as follows: - Adults, ages 18 and older, allergic reactions such as angina, hives or painful heartburn. - Diarrhea In both adults and children. - In children over 2.0kg (100% of age-specific dosing information). Nexium is also used to treat frequent urination (more commonly used as LFTs), where urination can lead to the over-ongevity of the urination. Nexium can also be used to treat acid-related conditions caused by chemotherapy (such as head trauma, chemotherapy-related chemotherapy). There are two types of acid-related conditions: - If Nexium medicine is not treating the initial condition, then symptomatic relief is required; and, if Nexium medicine is treating the initial condition, treatment is needed for up to 7 days, where 20mg of esomeprazole and a full course of treatment should be completed. - Nexium medicine should be used with caution in the elderly. - Nexium medicine should be regularly monitored for signs and symptoms of blood loss, which may occur from treatment, and for possible changes in blood pressure and heart rate. - If Nexium medicine is experiencing symptoms of acid reflux or heartburn then use of the medicine is essential. - Esomeprazole medicine is also used to treat acid-related stomach conditions caused by chemotherapy (such as Head trauma). - If esomeprazole medicine is suspected, then taking the medicine at the earliest sign of symptoms should be avoided. - Nexium medicine is also used to treat heartburn (a common type of stomach pain). - In addition, the following serious conditions may necessitate treatment with Nexium medicine.
Nexium medicine is for use in adults, but it should not be used in children.
The recommended dose of Nexium medicine H1: Take 20 mg once per day. The dose is adjusted on the day, and for the duration of the treatment. The maximum daily dose is = 4 g of Nexium. The usual adult daily dose of 20 mg (or 5 mg) is 550 mg.
Nexium can cause side effects with side effects, although not everybody gets them. The following side effects have been reported most frequently with the use of Nexium medicine. - Heartburn Max - Acute myocarditis or angina. - Lobar swelling of the face, eyes, tongue or tongue. - Injection site reactions including burning, stinging, itching or tingling. - Skin reaction including itching, redness or tinging of the skin.
